Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Cancellation by the Owner

You may cancel a booking at any time before the scheduled start time. The following applies: • Cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time: full refund of all amounts paid, including the 5% service fee. • Cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time: up to 50% of the booking total may be retained as a cancellation charge, at Barkevo's discretion. We consider the notice given and the Walker's loss of income when determining the charge. If in doubt, contact us before cancelling. • No-shows (Owner fails to be available or present at the agreed time): treated as a cancellation within 24 hours.

2. Cancellation by the Walker

If a Walker cancels a confirmed booking for any reason, the Owner will receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including the service fee. Barkevo will also make reasonable efforts to find you an alternative Walker at short notice.

3. 14-day statutory cooling-off period

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel any contract entered into at a distance (online). However, by completing a booking on Barkevo you request that the service begins before the 14-day cooling-off period expires. By doing so, you acknowledge that: • If the service has been fully performed within the 14-day period (i.e. the walk or session has already taken place), your right to cancel that booking under these Regulations is lost. • If you cancel during the 14-day period before the service has started, the cancellation terms in Section 1 above apply instead. This does not affect your statutory rights regarding faulty or misrepresented services.

4. Disputes and the money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with the service received, you may raise a dispute within 48 hours of the scheduled end time of the booking. To raise a dispute, go to your booking page and click "Report an issue", or email hello@barkevo.com with your booking reference. Barkevo will review the dispute and may issue a partial or full refund at its sole discretion. We may contact both the Owner and Walker for information. Our decision is final, but does not affect your right to pursue a claim through the courts.

5. How refunds are issued

All refunds are credited back to the original payment method. Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Barkevo cannot issue refunds to a different payment method than the one used for the original booking.

6. Recurring bookings

For recurring bookings, each individual session is treated as a separate booking for cancellation purposes. You may cancel a recurring schedule at any time; the cancellation policy above applies to any session that falls within 24 hours of the cancellation.
